1. What we collect
Three things. Contact details you give us — your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, and your business name. The content of your order brief — your niche, your target domain, the goals and background you write in, and any files, logos or facts you send us. And basic technical information when you visit this site, such as pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, and the browser you used. We do not collect payment card details on this website.
2. Why we use it
To reply to your request, quote it, and agree the scope with you. To produce and publish the work you ordered, and to send you the delivery report. To contact you about your order, including a renewal reminder before a dedicated blog reaches the end of its year. And to keep the site working and secure. We do not sell your data, we do not rent it out, and we do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask for.
3. Our lawful basis
We use your data to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and then to perform that contract, which covers everything involved in quoting, producing and delivering your order. We rely on our legitimate interest in running and securing the business for site analytics, fraud prevention and record keeping. Where the law requires consent — for non-essential cookies, or for marketing email — we ask for it first and you can withdraw it at any time.
4. Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run the service: our hosting and infrastructure providers, our email delivery provider, our customer-support and live-chat provider, our payment provider, domain and DNS providers where you have asked us to publish on your own address, our analytics provider (Google Analytics), and the advertising platforms we use to measure our own ads (Google Ads and Meta). They act on our instructions and only for these purposes, except that Google and Meta also use what they receive under their own terms, as section 7 explains. We share data with no one else, except where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim. Some providers operate outside your country; where that happens we rely on standard contractual safeguards.
5. How long we keep it
Order records and the correspondence around them are kept for as long as we are working with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can answer questions about past work and meet accounting and tax obligations — normally up to seven years. Delivery reports are issued without an expiry date and stay available so your links keep working. Enquiries that never become orders are deleted within twelve months. Records of the forms sent on this site, including the ones our checks refused, and of the emails we sent are kept for 180 days to look into problems and abuse, then deleted automatically. Analytics data is retained in aggregate.
6. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict or stop certain uses of it, or ask for it in a portable format. Email hello@wannaseo.com and we will action it — normally within thirty days, and free of charge. Deleting your data may mean we can no longer maintain content we published for you, and we will tell you clearly if that is the case before acting. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request you can complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Cookies, analytics and advertising
This site uses essential cookies that make it work — remembering your session and protecting forms from abuse. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site. When you confirm a free start, we also set a cookie (free_starts, up to 400 days) that remembers, in encrypted form, the email address you used, so this site can show your returning-client discount; it is used for nothing else. We also use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and where visitors arrive from, and the advertising tags of Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to measure whether our ads lead to sign-ups and orders and to show our ads to people who have visited this site. These tags set cookies and tell Google and Meta which pages you view and what you do here, such as starting or paying for an order. When you create an account, place an order or pay, they may also receive your email address in hashed (scrambled) form, so the action can be matched to an ad. With your consent where it is needed, our server may also send these events, such as a confirmed payment, directly to Meta to measure our ads, with your email address only in hashed form. Google and Meta act as independent controllers for that data under their own privacy policies. Visitors from Europe, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, are asked first, and only essential cookies are set until they agree. Anyone can change their choice with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. We treat the Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to switch off the advertising tags. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
8. Enquiries sent through pages we build for our clients
Some pages we build and host for our clients carry an enquiry form. When you send one, we store what you typed (your name, your phone number or email address, the service you chose and your message), the page you sent it from, your IP address and your browser type. We hold it on behalf of our client, the business you contacted: they see it in their delivery report. We use it for nothing else and never add you to our own mailing lists. It is kept while that client's delivery report is available, unless you or the client ask us to delete it sooner by emailing hello@wannaseo.com.
